Linguaphone French review

Linguaphone's French Complete CD Language Course ($399.95 for 10 CDs plus six books; the company also produces quick downloadable French courses, but these do not cover the same material). Linguaphone Languages was the very first company to combine traditional language instruction with recordings. It has been in the business of developing language lessons for over a century, and you'd expect them to be good at it - which they are. But they also are very traditional. You listen to the dialogues and read the printed words, and only attempt to speak when you understand what you're saying. There are no learner's forums or interactive games.

In addition, Linguaphone French Complete tries to cover a great deal of material with a great many books and CDs, and for the average learner with no previous experience with French, the pace may be too fast to handle comfortably. Overall, Linguaphone French is a good, solid, reliable program - but Rocket French is a better way to learn French online. For this reason, I've given Linguaphone French Complete a 73% rating.
